I have been in Arlington, Virginia (1 mile from D.C.) staying with my friend Parth the last two days. My best friend Elliot decided to take a bus from NYC last minute to join us for the weekend. Elliot didn’t get in until late so Parth took me to a cool spot called Martin’s Tavern in Georgetown. Many former Presidents have booths in the restaurant. It was nice to have a real meal and see my friend. Elliot arrived and we spent the night exploring Georgetown and drinking beers.
Washington, D.C. is one of the best places I’ve ever traveled to. I’m very happy I added the capitol to my route last minute. If you haven’t had to opportunity to visit book a trip asap. My buddy Parth has been an awesome host and tour guide. Today after taking the metro and filling up on Chipotle we spent the day exploring the city.
Having limited time Parth decided to take me to the big 3. The monument, the capitol and Whitehouse plus seeing the Bill of Rights / Constitution. Being a political science major and history nerd made me have an unforgettable day. The Capitol was swarmed with protesters and I can now official say I’ve been to a protest. What a crazy and different experience to stumble upon. Tonight we plan on grabbing dinner and going to a rooftop that overlooks the Capitol. I plan to get a early start on tomorrow. If you don’t hear from me for a few days it is because I’m back on the road without wifi. Stay tuned.
The last picture is me breaking the rules and secretly photographing the bill of rights.
